The International United Nations Watch (IUNW) monitors UN institutions and agencies, campaigning to ensure high standards of compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the founding Charter of the United Nations.

Established in 2019, IUNW is an international coalition of intellectuals and political activists disillusioned with the retreat of value-driven global governance. We aim to hold UN agencies to account and empower citizens to engage in international forums.

We facilitate research, initiate information campaigns, and lobby on international and national levels to ensure that the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are pursued in a manner that leaves no one behind.

What We Do

Our advocacy for minority and indigenous peoples’ rights is founded on the fundamental principle of human rights equality. We campaign for equality before the law and the freedom to sustainably develop economically, socially, and culturally.

We recognize that respect for the universal significance of human rights and fundamental freedoms is an essential factor for peace and justice. We consider the role of the UN in conflict resolution and peacekeeping as intrinsically linked with global Social Development Goals.

Our monitoring and campaigning focus on four SDG clusters: Social Rights, Sustainable and Transparent Development, Environmental and Land Rights, promoting and protecting SDGs in Areas of Conflict. Therefore, we also campaign on intersectional SDG issues, such as combating sex trafficking and the phenomenon of Child Soldiers.
